There's no such thing as a free lunch...Or is there?

It's official. The next president of Indonesia is former army general Prabowo Subianto. Quite how the next five years will pan out is anyone's guess but hopefully the foreign pundits who always bring up his dodgy human rights record will be proven wrong. Nonetheless, on policy making, Prabowo's popularist move to literally offer the poor 'a free lunch' every day of the week does not augur well for the future. Sexy Malaysia school uniforms

I'm too sexy for my shirt too sexy for my shirt
So sexy it hurts
And I'm too sexy for Malaysia too sexy for Malaysia
Too sexy for Malaysia…

This is from across the straits in Malaysia:

Malaysia’s Education Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein has insisted that blaming students or their uniforms for sexual crimes is unfair as there is
nothing sexy about school uniforms now worn by girls in government schools.

The Minister’s comments come after the little known National Islamic Students Association of Malaysia created a furor in the ultra conservative republic by suggesting that “the blouse encouraged rape and premarital sex”. (Or a bit like saying that a jewelers deserves to be robbed for having jewels on display, or that drivers of Mercs are simply asking for their cars to be nicked when they park ‘em in public).

So well done to the minister for speaking up in support of the students. But as for there being
nothing sexy about Malaysian school uniforms, well….
