There's no such thing as a free lunch...Or is there?

It's official. The next president of Indonesia is former army general Prabowo Subianto. Quite how the next five years will pan out is anyone's guess but hopefully the foreign pundits who always bring up his dodgy human rights record will be proven wrong. Sri Ratu Hotel, Legian

The old axiom “you get what you pay for” certainly hold true when it comes to staying in hotels. So if you stay in budget places you have to be realistic about what you expect. Nonetheless, Sri Ratu is not that bad a place. The rooms, although tiny, are clean enough and the aircon worked as it should have. Even so, the overall feel of the hotel is pretty claustrophobic. A pool has been built but it’s surrounded very closely by rooms on all sides and is not exactly inviting. Sounds also seem to carry very easily, so if your neighbors are having a noisy dispute expect to hear everything! The hotel can also be a rather difficult place to find as it is tucked away down a little alley off the main street. All in all, this place is okay for one or two nights if you are in need of somewhere to stay. Any longer, look elsewhere!
