There's no such thing as a free lunch...Or is there?

It's official. The next president of Indonesia is former army general Prabowo Subianto. Quite how the next five years will pan out is anyone's guess but hopefully the foreign pundits who always bring up his dodgy human rights record will be proven wrong. Nonetheless, on policy making, Prabowo's popularist move to literally offer the poor 'a free lunch' every day of the week does not augur well for the future. Such a policy - if it ever came to fruition - would cost a phenomenal amount of money and likely lead to huge inefficiencies (food waste) and poor incentives (make people lazy). Another concern is Prabowo's strong nationalist bent. Thus, in the possible event that he finds himself with his back against the proverbial wall in the face of stern economic challenges, there is a big chance that he will simply scapegoat foreigners. But he will have to be careful. Construction of the new capital city, Nusantara, for example, is highly dependent on foreign in

Delta Spa Jakarta

In the murky world of plus plus spas, one name naturally comes to mind: Delta Spa.

They are a big player with a chain of men’s spas in Jakarta and other large Indonesian cities.

There is a famous joke in Jakarta about Delta Spa. It relates to three Papuans who were visiting the capital city and asked their Jakarta colleagues to take them to a spa.

In the spa, a so-called therapist told them they had a choice of three types of massage: traditional, shiatsu and a mix of traditional- shiatsu.

Two of the Papuans requested the shiatsu massage but the other asked whether a plus plus massage was available. The therapist told him she was ready to do this, especially for him.

He was very happy.

After the group of guys had received their massages and had gotten showered and dressed, one of the Papuans’ Jakarta colleagues noticed that the Papuan who had asked for a plus plus massage looked noticeably grumpy.

When asked why, he said that his back was stiff as the therapist had walked on it with her feet and knees during the massage!

Now that’s what you get for a plus plus massage if you are unlucky! Hahaha!

Delta’s target market according to its website is:

men aged 30 years and older with high Socioeconomic Status. Regulars at Delta Spa include entrepreneurs, business executives, expats and government officials among others, who see the spa as more than just a place to relax and unwind. These are men who have made health and wellness a priority and lifestyle”.

Hahaha! What’s wrong with men under 30?!!!

Delta mostly gets unfavourable reviews on the net as well. Check them out yourself.

It seems you really do have to have a lot of money to enjoy yourself here!
