It's official. The next president of Indonesia is former army general Prabowo Subianto. Quite how the next five years will pan out is anyone's guess but hopefully the foreign pundits who always bring up his dodgy human rights record will be proven wrong. Nonetheless, on policy making, Prabowo's popularist move to literally offer the poor 'a free lunch' every day of the week does not augur well for the future. Such a policy - if it ever came to fruition - would cost a phenomenal amount of money and likely lead to huge inefficiencies (food waste) and poor incentives (make people lazy). Another concern is Prabowo's strong nationalist bent. Thus, in the possible event that he finds himself with his back against the proverbial wall in the face of stern economic challenges, there is a big chance that he will simply scapegoat foreigners. Pegasus Spa Jakarta

Pegasus Spa is great value for money, I’ll give ‘em that. Just don’t come with high expectations: it’s not that sort a place. 

But if you have a few hours to burn and are looking for some light relief then you won’t be disappointed. 

While you are at it, take the opportunity to practice your Bahasa Indonesia with the (mostly) very fit young therapists, or, if you are so inclined, a local language like Bahasa Sunda. 

You have two different types of room to choose from: standard or VIP. 

So why not become a very important person for the day and get the bonus of a TV and bathtub in your room? Nice. 

Room rates include use of the sauna, steam room and hot and cool pools. 

All in all, you shouldn't spend more than Rp200-300k for a visit here – very good value for money in today’s Jakarta.
