There's no such thing as a free lunch...Or is there?

It's official. The next president of Indonesia is former army general Prabowo Subianto. Quite how the next five years will pan out is anyone's guess but hopefully the foreign pundits who always bring up his dodgy human rights record will be proven wrong. Nonetheless, on policy making, Prabowo's popularist move to literally offer the poor 'a free lunch' every day of the week does not augur well for the future. Such a policy - if it ever came to fruition - would cost a phenomenal amount of money and likely lead to huge inefficiencies (food waste) and poor incentives (make people lazy). Another concern is Prabowo's strong nationalist bent. Thus, in the possible event that he finds himself with his back against the proverbial wall in the face of stern economic challenges, there is a big chance that he will simply scapegoat foreigners. Golden Crown Jakarta

A lot of good-looking Indonesian girls leave their hometowns expecting the streets of Jakarta to be paved with gold (or even paved at all!) but still find fame and fortune an elusive aspiration. So close yet so far…Just like the gold at the top of the National Monument (Monas) – sometimes you see it up there and think you can just reach out and grab it, but when you do… nothing. It’s frustratingly out of reach.

But all is not lost. And a golden future may be in the grasp of these girls after all – provided they choose to take up employment at a club like Golden Crown Jakarta, a huge and popular entertainment center in the bustling downtown area of Chinatown (Glodok).

This place is so large it’s unreal. More than 15,000 square meters of unfettered mayhem.

They’ve got a 2,000 m2 discotheque which can accommodate up to 3,000 punters, a 600 m2 Digitech Lounge with 39 tables and 10 sofas, a huge Karaoke Hall, a total of 66 (yes 66!!!!) Karaoke Rooms, a Spa, Fitness Center, and even a Hotel.

The place is best at weekends when it gets rather overrun.

And if you’re really lucky you may even get to enjoy a golden shower! Hahaha!
