BMTH live in Jakarta 2024

This time around Ravel gets it right and BMTH (Bring Me The Horizon) are headlining the Nexfest festival in Jakarta which also features Babymetal. In this format there is no seating - which makes for a much more intimate experience - although you do have to arrive really early if you want to pick a spot right up close to the stage.  We arrived about six hours before BMTH were scheduled to start their performance and bought plenty of drinks to stay hydrated in the tropical afternoon heat (mind you, some of those were Iceland vodka mix!) This was a gig I had long been looking forward to - especially after the debacle last year. Not everyone likes BMTH of course. For deathcore fans the band sold out. For metal heads the band is not purist enough. And for the wider mainstream audience, the band is too heavy. King Cross, Kelapa Gading

The UK’s King Edward VII was said to be a dour chap and I think he’d be very surprised to learn that a nightclub-cum-stripclub-cum-bordello had been named after him. Not directly named after him of course – the King Cross nightclub in Jakarta actually takes its name after a district in Sydney called Kings Cross, now ironically home to its fair share of hookers and gangster types, despite paying homage to the former UK king.

 But, hey, whatever. The king is dead and it’s time to party.

King Cross offers a host of adult entertainment activities but is best known for its sexy dancers.

Besides the spectacular stage shows, the girls will also entertain clients and get progressively “more raunchy” the more drinks you buy them (at Rp50k a pop).

 On the third floor of King Cross a live band can usually be heard after 8pm. But if it’s relaxation you need then treat yourself to a massage on the second floor. Here, in so-called therapy rooms, you can get treated for any conditions that “affect your mind, body and spirit” and – best of all – come out with a wide smile on your face. Those in the know may wish to mention the magic word: combo. Now that really is fun!

1st Floor: Hotel with standard room, deluxe room, superior room, junior suite room with karaoke facilities, royal suite room with 2 rooms and karaoke facilities.

2nd Floor: Theater, shiatsu, traditional massage at standard and VIP room, ladies therapy.

3rd Floor: Lounge with band every Monday to Sunday 9PM - 2AM, Sexy Dancer Choreography 8.30PM - 3AM every weekday and 3.30AM every weekend.

 As for prices, they are reasonable for this sort of entertainment.
