BMTH live in Jakarta 2024

This time around Ravel gets it right and BMTH (Bring Me The Horizon) are headlining the Nexfest festival in Jakarta which also features Babymetal. In this format there is no seating - which makes for a much more intimate experience - although you do have to arrive really early if you want to pick a spot right up close to the stage.  We arrived about six hours before BMTH were scheduled to start their performance and bought plenty of drinks to stay hydrated in the tropical afternoon heat (mind you, some of those were Iceland vodka mix!) This was a gig I had long been looking forward to - especially after the debacle last year. Not everyone likes BMTH of course. For deathcore fans the band sold out. For metal heads the band is not purist enough. And for the wider mainstream audience, the band is too heavy. Y Grill – Jakarta’s most expensive restaurant?

For me, this is the best restaurant in Jakarta. It’s also possibly the most expensive. But like all things in life, you get what you pay for. And grade 9+ wagyu, the most tender and magnificent steak on planet Earth, does not come cheap I can tell you.

The setting is equally impressive. Modern, clean and sleek, but not clinical or cold. This is a place where successful people come. Where things get done and you don’t sweat the small stuff. No sharp edges. Quality design and superior materials. The gastronomic equivalent of a Mercedes or Porsche.

The wagyu is imported from the good folk Down Under and the cows are raised on a diet of hearty foods and – I kid you not - good quality red wines!

Besides the wagyu, the other culinary offerings include king crab claw, fresh oyster, and, as you might expect, yakiniku, shabu-shabu and tepanyaki.

The desserts, which are also prepared to equally exacting standards of perfection, include the must-try ‘molecular’ berries of fruit liquid.

An unforgettable experience I can assure you!

NOTE:  Now permanently closed
Perhaps it was too expensive! Hahaha!!!!
